Marriage #1

J had a walk and a talk about him and he liked musicians, mainly singer songwriter guitarists who sang of heartbreak and despair and the moral ramifications of the years of treating others in a less than upstanding way. He admired them. He even thought he was one of them.

J discovered that his wife had been secretly sharing messages with another man…messages of love and longing and flattery and lust. So then J knew what the songs meant and he knew who he was and after all the years of self-inflicted moral pain/dilemma he was the one who got hurt, right in the heart.

It took a while but eventually when he drove his wife and their three children to the supermarket he didn’t re-read the messages in his mind and he could talk to her without thinking about how she would have smiled, reading and writing to that other man.
